How to use the Leap Year Calculator

  1. Enter a whole year between 1600 and 9999.

  3. Read whether it is a leap year, February days, and nearby leap years.

How does this calculator work?

Gregorian leap-year rule: a year divisible by 4 is a leap year, except century years divisible by 100, unless also divisible by 400. As a result, 1900 was not a leap year but 2000 was. This tool applies the modern Gregorian calendar rule to the supported year range.

Calculation example

2024 is divisible by 4 and not by 100, so it has February 29. The year 1900 had only 28 February days; 2000 had 29.
