How to use the Add or Subtract Days Calculator

  1. Choose your starting date.
  2. Enter a positive number to add days or a negative number to subtract.
  3. Choose all calendar days or weekdays (Monday to Friday), then calculate.

How does this calculator work?

Calendar-day mode moves by whole Gregorian dates, avoiding daylight-saving effects on the day count. Weekdays mode skips Saturdays and Sundays while moving one calendar date at a time. The starting day is not counted. Country-specific public holidays are not excluded; this is not a public-holiday-aware business-day calculator.

Calculation example

March 1, 2024 minus 1 calendar day is February 29, 2024. Adding 1 weekday to Friday, March 1, 2024 reaches Monday, March 4.

Frequently asked questions

Can I subtract dates as well as add?

Yes. Use a negative number such as −7 to go seven counted days backwards.

Do business days exclude bank holidays?

No. This weekday option excludes weekends only; holidays require a local holiday calendar.

Is the starting date counted?

No. An offset of 1 starts from the next eligible date.

Does it handle leap years?

Yes. It uses Gregorian calendar dates, including February 29 when valid.

What happens if I enter zero?

Zero days returns your starting date.
