CalculatedHow to use the EST to PST Converter
- Choose a source date and time.
- Select Eastern → Pacific or Pacific → Eastern.
- Choose automatic US daylight-saving rules or fixed standard-time conversion, then calculate.
How does this calculator work?
Automatic mode uses America/New_York and America/Los_Angeles IANA time zones to apply historical and seasonal US DST rules. On a spring-forward gap, a nonexistent source time is rejected. On an autumn fall-back, when the local time occurs twice, the earlier occurrence is used and identified. Fixed standard-time mode always uses EST (UTC−5) and PST (UTC−8) without daylight-saving adjustments.
Calculation example
January 15, 2026 at 3:30 PM EST is 12:30 PM PST. In July, 3:30 PM EDT is 12:30 PM PDT under automatic mode.
